Endurance Race

The inaugural round of the KBS National Underbone Endurance Championship was flagged off in challenging weather conditions at the MIMIC Circuit in Malacca.

Motul Yamaha YYPang team took part in this endurance race to not only test the reliability of their setup, but also to allow the riders to hone their on-track skills. Represented by a pair of 115cc machines shared between four riders, the team participated in the Open Class category, which comprised motorcycles of up to 150cc. Despite the displacement handicap, the team was confident as they were running a finely tuned setup that was used in the country's premier race championship.

After a splendid qualifying session, both #18 and #28 Yamaha started the race in first and second position. First up were Mohd Azhar and Mohd Zaidy, and the pair quickly established a half-a-lap lead that lasted till the first rider change.

However, a cruel twist of fate struck #18 rider Zaidy as his battery dislodged and caused the rear wheel to jam up - leading to a disappointing end to the race for the pairing of Zaidy and Izzat.

Determined to put the team on the podium, #28 riders Azhar and Adib gave it their 101% and eventually look a well-deserved victory. Leading from start to finish, the result was more than satisfactory and also gave the team some precious testing time.

Open Class Results:

01- Motul Yamaha YYPang Racing Team

02- MK Possum Racing Team

03- Abas Motorsports
